Kranjska Gora is just 45 minutes from Chalet Lenart. It is a pretty alpine village in a stunning mountain setting, centred around a square with an old church with a wide range of restaurants, shops, bars, spas, pools and other amenities in easy reach.
The skiing is mostly orientated towards beginners and families, with extremely accessible and high quality nursery slopes and easy blue runs within a couple of minutes walk from the centre of the resort.
A chairlift over the mountain takes you to the long, steep Podkoren pistes where the World Cup races are held and which will appeal to intermediate and advanced skiers.
The resort is relatively low so it is worth checking snow reports but artificial snowmaking means snow is generally good between late December and late March.
Just a little further on from Kranjska Gora, you can cross the border into Italy and enjoy a day’s skiing in Tarvisio, home of the annual world cup super giant slalom event or Sella Nevea (connected to Kanin, Slovenia).
