World Cup weekend at Planica is mid-end March and is a great spectacle if you’ve never seen people voluntarily throwing themselves down a runway and flying hundreds of metres through the air!
We have a couple of sledges for our guests to use at Chalet Lenart and you really don’t have to go far to do so! Just head up the road towards Krvavec and you’ll find lots of meadows of varying steepness. Alternatively there’s a great organised sledding excursion at Zgornje Jezersko (about 35 minutes beautiful drive) where they take you up a forest road in 4 wheel drives and then you sled back 2km through the forests – it’s brilliant fun (especially as they take you up twice!)
There’s also ice skating on a frozen lake at Zgornje Jezersko It’s a really beautiful setting and there’s a gostilna next to the lake – very convenient! Or in most winters you can skate on Lake Bohinj– again, a sublime experience.
And most towns have a man-made ice rink in the centre at winter, including our local town, Kamnik.
You can also enjoy snow-shoeing, night-tobogganing, ice-climbing, ski-doo adventures, cross-country skiing… just contact us for details.
